Prof Oluwole Adebo, President

Prof 'Wole Adebo is the Head, Division of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria. His practice covers pulmonary, oesophageal, vascular and cardiac surgery exclusive of Open Heart Surgery. His main area of interest is in pericardial and peripheral vascular disease. He is also active in medical education.

Prof Albert Amoah, Immediate Past President

Prof. Amoah is a Professor of Medicine and the Director of the Clinical Cardiovascular Research Laboratory at the University of Ghana Medical School. His main interest is in cardiovascular risk factor epidemiology and translation of research evidence to promote cardiovascular health in the community.

Prof. Serigne Abdou BA - Vice-President Central

Professor BA is the head of the Departement of Cardiovascular Diseases at LE DANTEC teaching Hospital of Cheikh Anta DIOP University in Dakar - Senegal . He is running one of the biggest school of cardiology in Africa . His main research interests are epidemiology, prevention and control of cardiovascular diseases in addition to pacing and coronaroangiography.

Dr Ahmed S.A. ElSayed. Vice-President North

Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon AlShaab Hospital and Associate Professor of Surgery International Africa University
Man interests are establishment of viable cardiothoracic surgery programs in Africa and is widely involved in researching into outcomes of  cardiothoracic surgery in developing economies.Also has a degree in health informatics and is interested in the application of telemedicine to improve health in developing countries.

Prof Elijah Nyainda Ogola, Vice-President East

Prof Elijah Nyainda Ogola is the chaiman of the department of clinical medicine at the university of Nairobi. Hei a clinical cardiologist. His main research interest is the emergence of cardiovascular risk factors in Africa

Bongani Mayosi, Vice-President South

Prof Bongani Mayosi is the head of medicine at the University of Cape Town, South Africa. His main focus is on heart diseases of the poor, employing molecular, clinical and population-based strategies in his research.

Prof Samuel I Omokhodion, Secretary-General

Samuel Omokhodion is an Associate Professor of Paediatrics and Paediatric Cardiologist at the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan. His main interest is heart failure in children, and with a focus on markers of myocardial injury in perinatally stressed newborns. Epidemiology, Prevention and Control strategies of acquire childhood diseases have also been of interest more recently.
