The shaping of the rapidly changing
'landscape' of cardiovascular healthcare on the African continent is one that calls for input from all stake holders. These include not only the frontline players within the constituent disciplines in the field but also National and Regional Governmental and Non-Governmental policy makers that directly or indirectly impact the emerging structures and directions.
The 2011 PASCAR conference being held in collaboration with the Uganda Heart Association (UHA), scheduled for May 27

The 2011 conference is in every respect a vital event to attend for all healthcare professionals working in cardiovascular health sector.
An exciting range of plenary sessions, interactive workshops, practical seminars and networking opportunities will give delegates the opportunity to focus on, explore and discuss the changes and challenges that they face.
The biennial scientific meetings form a key part of PASCAR's professional development programme to address current issues and needs of cardiovascular healthcare on the continent. It will provide clinical updates, enhance practical skills and will address key research and hot topics in cardiovascular health, all
aimed at refining practice. World class experts have been invited to present and there will be opportunities for extensive interaction with the faculty. The call for abstracts will also ensure that highly relevant material is included by way of poster and oral presentations. Further learning objectives and intended outcomes will be featured in the Cardiovascular Journal of Africa and the PASCAR website.
Alongside the conference there will be the satellite meetings running on May 27th, a social programme including an informal Welcome Cocktail party in the evening of the same day and a more formal Gala dinner on May 30th as well as guided tours of Kampala city.
It will be a busy few days but there will be a lot of information and opportunity for you for education , motivation and personal development.
